Police have arrested two people alleged to have been involved in the shooting of a Mongrel Mob member in the northern Hawke's Bay town of Wairoa on Sunday morning.
The 42-year-old Mongrel Mob member was shot in the shoulder and police, including the armed offenders squad, were earlier looking for a 19-year-old Black Power member alleged to have been involved in the shooting.
The victim, who sustained non life-threatening injuries, was taken to Wairoa Hospital for treatment to his shoulder and pellet wounds to his face, then transferred to Hastings Hospital.
A 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were arrested in the Wairoa area today and were jointly charged in connection with the shooting, police said.
Both were due to appear in Gisborne District Court today with charges yet to be determined.
Wairoa police were not looking for anyone else in the investigation.
