Police are investigating after the body of a man was found at a section of roadworks in northeast Hamilton this morning.
Police were called after workers discovered the body at a construction site between Carrs and Tramway Rds at 7.20am, Detective Senior Sergeant Nigel Keall of Hamilton CIB said.
"Workers arriving for work discovered the body of a man lying near a maroon, four door Mitsubishi Galant," Mr Keall said.
Police were yet to identify the man. They were trying to establish how he came to be in the construction zone.
"We are appealing for sightings of the maroon car in the area overnight or of anything else out of place in the area."
The death would be treated as suspicious until a cause of death was known.
A cordon had been established.
