A truck driver charged in connection with the death of a senior police officer pleaded not guilty in Lower Hutt District Court today.
Desmond Wilson, 45, faces one charge of careless driving causing the death of Superintendent Steve Fitzgerald.
His trial will take place later this year.
Mr Fitzgerald, national manager of police communications centres, died when he was involved in a collision with the truck on The Esplanade at Petone while cycling home from work on June 19 last year.
