One person has been critically injured after a single-vehicle crash in Ashburton early this morning.
Police were alerted about 3.15am to reports that a car had crashed into a power pole on Staveley Rd.
The sole occupant of the car was airlifted to Christchurch Hospital.
The road will be closed while the Serious Crash Unit investigates. Diversions are in place.
