A star of the hit TV programme Outrageous Fortune, Tammy Davis, who plays Munter, has been convicted of drink-driving.
Davis was stopped by police on a motorway on-ramp near central Auckland in March and found to be almost twice the legal limit.
In Auckland District Court today Davis' lawyer requested name suppression for his client, saying he was a well-known actor and it would be embarrassing for his identity to be made public, Stuff website reported.
The request was declined.
Davis was fined $1600 and court costs of $130 and barred from driving for one year and one day.
