Police are hunting three people after an armed hold-up at a Bay of Plenty service station this afternoon.
The robbery took place at the Shell station in Edgecumbe, 19km west of Whakatane, about 1pm, acting area commander Tony Jeurissen, of Eastern Bay of Plenty police, said.
Police were urgently seeking a grey Nissan Pulsar or similar five-door hatchback with a sunroof and no number plates, possibly with frontal damage.
Three people were in the car when it was last seen in College Rd, Edgecumbe, heading toward Thornton about 12.50pm, Mr Jeurissen said.
Police are asking anyone who had seen the vehicle to phone 111.
