Firefighters were called to a house this morning after a home owner discovered a small fire in the ceiling.
Greerton fire service station officer Neil Brown said they were called to the Fraser St house about 5am today.
"A woman's been having some painting work done and she's got recess lights. The painters removed the heat shield which has caused the Insul-Fluf to catch a light."
Firefighters removed a square metre of gib and insulation.
Mr Brown said it was a good reminder to make sure recessed lights were not touching insulating material.
