A new website for the Waitaki District Council was launched yesterday.
The site, which was trialled successfully in December, has a more modern look and contains more information.
As well as providing the same information as the previous website, it also includes extra rates information details.
Enhancements in the future will add even more information for people to obtain online.
A test site was set up before Christmas for people to try out while development continued.
''The beta [test] site use was increasing so much as people were finding it better that we have now launched the new site,'' website administrator Michael White said yesterday.
The site had two user levels - a simple one for people wanting basic information and another for those wanting more.
