Most organisations want to see their group growing, but for Camp Quality it is a double-edged sword.

The charity dedicated to providing fun, hope, and happiness to children aged 5 to 16 living with cancer is exploring the best of the best at their annual camp in Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes this week.

Camp Quality manager Lynne Sinclair said the children were having a good time with activities including a trip to the Kiwi Water Park and Highlands, and making music sticks using old bottle tops.

The 34 children at the camp were making the most of what was on offer.

This was Mrs Sinclair’s 13th year being involved.

When she first joined the group there were about 20 children.

That number had grown as cancers found their way to all parts of society, she said.

The group helps those who have cancer, are in remission or have been declared cancer free.

This year’s campers range in age from 6-14 and come from south of Ashburton. — Allied Media
