Oh the joy, we’re off on holiday

George Savage (5, right), leads his Tarras School mates in a jump for joy at the end of the school year yesterday.

The year 1 to 8 school had 15 pupils this year, ranging in age from 5 to 11. It is believed to be the smallest school in Central Otago.

It employs three teachers, two full time and one part time, with the board of trustees contributing to teacher’s wages.

The only school leaver this year was year 8 pupil Madeleine Hewson (11), who will go to Mount Aspiring College next year.
