Pipe fixed but residents still urged to conserve water

A burst pipe in Alexandra which left residents without a water supply this morning has been fixed.

The Central Otago District Council earlier urged residents to conserve water as contractors worked to fix the issue.

The pipe had been fixed by 11.44am, however the council reiterated the need to conserve water for the rest of today while a water reservoir in the town filled.

A burst pipe on Success St was identified as the source of the issue.
