A 50sq m area of scrub caught fire on Teviot Rd past Pinders Pond, and Roxburgh Volunteer Fire Brigade and Otago Fire and Emergency New Zealand crews were called to the scene at 3.17pm. The fire was quickly contained.

David Welsh said there was "no indicative cause" for the blaze.
"We're just lucky there was no wind."
Hotspots at the scene were being dampened down by three fire appliances by 3.40pm.
