Crafted Artisans Gallery collective founding member Mary Horn (80), of Oamaru, shows one of her untitled acrylic-on-wallpaper paintings on display at the opening reception of the revamped Harbour St gallery space.

This week, the gallery celebrated a stable future after securing its first three-year lease with the Oamaru Whitestone Civic Trust.

Since December 2016, the 15-member collective had operated with a short-term licence to occupy in what had previously been a wine bar.

The collective closed the gallery for a week to revamp and renovate the space after the lease was secured, collective president Sue McLean said.
