A cyclist is seriously injured after being hit by a car in Oamaru this morning.
The crash happened at the intersection of State Highway 1 and Lune St about 7.30am.
A police spokeswoman said the circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately available, but one lane of the highway was closed for a brief period before it was reopened at 7.40am.
St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said one male patient was transported to Dunedin Hospital with serious injures.
The nature of his injuries is not known.
