Prime spring lambs sold strongly up to $97 at the Waiareka stock sale yesterday.
Prime ewes also had a strong sale, with the best making $78.
Prime Charolais heifers, at 512kg, made $1.67/kg, while in the store pens, Hereford-Friesian-cross steers, at 342kg, made $670.
Top prime lambs, $93-$97; good medium, $85-$90; medium, $80-$83; lighter, $73; prime hoggets, $74-$92; 2-tooth ewes, $63-$75; top prime ewes, $71-$78; medium, $62-$67; lighter, $55-$58.
Cattle: prime Charolais heifers, 512kg at $1.67.
Store cattle: Hereford-Friesian-cross steers, 328kg-342kg at $570-$670; Murray Grey cow and calf, $400 all counted; Friesian steer, 365kg at $520; Hereford-cross bull, 335kg at $430; Friesian bull calves, 98kg-165kg at $310-$340.
