About 40 people attended a public meeting in Oamaru yesterday to hear about the forum's role and how the marine area from the Timaru Harbour breakwater south to Waipapa Point might be managed.
The 14-member forum arose from a national initiative in 2013 and a series of public meetings are being held to inform and engage the public about developing management plans.
