The picnic ,and a 1950s, '60s and '70s theme dance on Saturday night were each attended by about 100 people.
Mr Wallace has lived in the Studholme district since he was born. In 1968 he married his wife Annette and lived on his own farm in Dohrmann's Rd.
He subdivided and sold the farm, retaining a 10ha block at Studholme, where he and his wife now live.
One of the oldest at the celebrations was Gladys Wilce (91), who now lives in Waimate.
