It is the first time the seaside town has had a theatre since the closure of Limelight in October 2018, so it came as no surprise when eager customers trickled into cinema on Thames St to catch the first screening at 5.15pm — one of four throughout the night.
Mr Smythe was leasing the same space Limelight once occupied, and worked with landlord Gerard Auckram and Design Federation to transform the theatre with an Art Deco interior
