
She was 39-year-old Miss Li.
A police spokeswoman said Miss Li's family requested her first name not be made public.
Miss Li died last Tuesday at the scene of the crash on the Hampden-Palmerston road, near the Moeraki Boulders turn-off.
Hers was the fifth death as the result of a crash on State Highway 1 near Moeraki in the past two years.
A 35-year-old woman travelling with Miss Li was flown to Dunedin Hospital by rescue helicopter with moderate to serious injuries following the crash.
An update on her condition could not be provided.
Last week, Detective Kevin Kirkman, of Oamaru, said none of the six people involved in the crash was from the Oamaru area. However, he declined to say where they were from.
An 88-year-old man and 83-year-old woman were admitted to Oamaru Hospital with minor injuries following the crash and a 56-year-old man and 57-year-old woman were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Following the crash, Moeraki locals, including Waitaki district councillor Jan Wheeler, called for flashing lights either side of the township and speed limits ''as low as possible'' for the stretch of road.
A NZ Transport Agency spokeswoman said the Safe Roads Alliance would investigate State Highway 1 from Oamaru to Dunedin early next year.
