Two drivers were processed for excess breath-alcohol in Oamaru over the weekend.

A 21-year-old Oamaru man was processed for drink-driving on Friday at 10pm in Thames St.

The driver allegedly had a breath-alcohol level of 793mcg.

Sergeant Blair Wilkinson said the man would appear in the Oamaru District Court on August 16.

A 45-year-old Oamaru man was arrested on Saturday at 6.40am for refusing to accompany a police officer for an evidential breath alcohol procedure.

Sgt Wilkinson said the man was involved in a single-vehicle crash on the intersection of Orwell and Clyde Sts and after arrest, was processed for drink-driving.

The driver allegedly had a breath-alcohol level of 774mcg.

The man will appear in the Oamaru District Court on August 16.

Sgt Wilkinson also said a 54-year-old woman was arrested last Friday at 6.45pm in Oamaru and charged with using a stolen bank card and unlawful conversion of a motor vehicle.

The Oamaru woman appeared in the Dunedin District Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody.

A 30-year-old Oamaru man was arrested on Sunday at 8.50pm for an alleged assault, after a family harm incident on South Hill.

The man will appear in the Oamaru District Court on August 16.
