World-class DJ and producer Carl Cox is confirmed to play in Queenstown for the first time on Saturday, January 30, and limited pre-sale tickets go on sale early next month.

Surreal Bar and Restaurant co-owner Erich Stadler told the Queenstown Times Cox will be on a motorcycle tour of New Zealand with friends and play only four gigs, after performing at Summadayze festivals in Australia and Auckland.

"We are fortunate enough to be one of these [gigs]. We were able to get Carl to play Surreal thanks to a good DJ friend in Auckland, Gavin Sokolich, who will also be touring with him.

"There will also be a few other DJs on the trip [Michael Knight, Defy and Brent Jarnell] who will play a warm-up night on Friday, January 29, at Surreal.

"Local DJ Snoop will also play with Carl and Gavin on Saturday when the main gig is on."

Pre-sale tickets are available from Surreal on January 7 for $30.
