Several Queenstown Lakes District councillors will have their say on the council's next chief executive.
Recruitment company Brannigans, alongside a selection committee consisting of Mayor Clive Geddes, deputy mayor John S. Wilson, councillors Gillian Macleod, John Mann, Leigh Overton and Lyal Cocks, will consider the applications for the position.
Cr Wilson told Queenstown Times there had been "plenty of applicants".
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to make a presentation to the council, which will then make the final decision.
It has not been confirmed whether chief executive Duncan Field has reapplied for the position.
Cr Wilson said an appointment was expected to be made within the next month.
