Exterior improvements to the Chester building in central Queenstown will take about a month, the owner, Skyline Enterprises, says.
Pedestrian safety fences were erected by contractors Naylor Love on Monday before work begins on a new front door and veranda to the building on the corner of Shotover and Camp Sts. Work will also include minor alterations to the balustrade and the removal of the cedar timber on the ground floor level, Skyline property manager Bob Dennison said.
The Queenstown Information Centre will remain open to the public throughout the revamp via the door on Shotover St next to STA Travel.
