Hollywood comes to Arrowtown for a special celebratory 10th anniversary Oscars party in Dorothy Brown's Cinema and Bar on February 27.
Black and white will be the theme of the traditionally glamorous and popular evening, in honour of the hotly-tipped silent monochrome film The Artist.
Manager Samantha Relph said the occasion would boast "a great atmosphere, entertainment, quizzes, prizes for the best dressed, live performances of music theatre show tunes from the 1920s and, rumour has it, a very special guest will be attending".
Millbrook was sponsoring the reception and party people would receive a complimentary drink accompanied by a selection of canapes.
Tickets cost $20 for non-members, and $10 for members.
Red-carpet arrivals were expected from 6.15pm, followed by the reception at 6.30pm and the 7pm screening of this year's 84th Academy Awards ceremony being held at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre.
Ms Relph said the 60 seats available were being snapped up, so booking was essential by calling Dorothy Brown's Cinema on 03-442-1964.
