Cathy Irons, of Christchurch, on violin and Mark Wilson, of Queenstown, on piano, will play pieces by Rachmaninoff, Sarasate, Svendson and others, plus jazz standards Autumn Leaves and My One and Only Love in the Thomas L Brown Gallery on Friday, December 16.
Irons plays in the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and in chamber music concerts. She records and arranges for several rock artists and has recorded five classical CDs.
Wilson is a popular mainstay of the Wakatipu's music scene and performs in Master Blasters and the Queenstown Community Choir, among other gigs.
The concert is performed from 7.30pm to 9pm. Tickets cost $19 and this includes a glass of wine and refreshments.

7.30pm: Mezzo-soprano Helen Medlyn, conductor Alexander Briger and a select group of New Zealand Symphony Orchestra musicians form the soundtrack for Christmas Pops, a family-friendly evening of music and carol-singing, in the Lake Wanaka Centre.
8pm: Red Rock begins its battle of the bands competition and continues every Tuesday until the final on January 31. Prizes for the winning band members include adventure activity passes and Rippon music festival tickets.
