Like 2 (2011), pigment inks on Hahnemühle photo rag, by Edwards and Johann. The Christchurch artists make their debut in Arrowtown tomorrow. Photos supplied.
Edwards and Johann, newly appointed Nadene Milne Gallery artists, launch their debut Wakatipu exhibition in Arrowtown with a public talk about their collaborative practice, influences and inspirations.

Christchurch-based award-winners Victoria Edwards and Ina Johann present their dynamic multimedia exhibition "Tormenting Luxury" tomorrow.

"These two highly experienced and educated artists have together developed a playful and highly original rapport where dress-ups and theatricality often play an important role in both video and photographic works," Ms Milne said.

"This exhibition will include surreally beautiful mural-sized photographic diptychs ...

"Each portrait is masterfully manipulated whereby much of the beauty lies in the enigma and ambiguity."

• Edwards and Johann present a series of video works and discuss their career at Dorothy Brown's Cinema at 7pm tomorrow. The gathering will then move next door to the gallery for the exhibition launch at 8pm. Bookings advised, $8.
