Marking the occasion are (back from left) board of trustees chairman Pete Bullen, Lion Foundation account manager for Otago Alan Goodman, (front from left) Central Lakes Trust trustee Greg Wilkinson, Lion Foundation South Island regional manager Terry Williamson, school principal Wendy Bamford and Central Lakes Trust deputy chairman Graeme Bell.
The hall, which was completed last term, was paid for with board of trustees' funds and $140,000 from the Lion Foundation, $100,000 from the Lottery Grants Board, $100,000 from Central Lakes Trust and $70,000 from the Otago Community Trust.
"Certainly our project plan never envisaged having a new hall up and operational within a year of opening our new school," Mr Bullen said, before cutting the ribbon and declaring the new facility open yesterday. Stage 3 of the hall, which will include storage and a green room space, is yet to be completed.
