Michelin-star New Zealand chef Josh Emett will share some of his tips and tricks next week during a special fundraiser for Remarkables Primary School.

Emett, who will open his first Queenstown restaurant, Rata, with businesswoman Fleur Caulton next month, will use local produce to showcase his style of food during a demonstration evening at Queenstown Resort College on Monday.

The event, organised by the Remarkables Parents Association (RPA), is a fundraiser to support Remarkables Primary School and will feature local produce and wines.

It would also be a chance to taste fabulous food and hear about some of Emett's experiences as a judge on Masterchef New Zealand and from working in kitchens around the world.

RPA chairwoman Tracey Pedersen said she was delighted to have a chef of Emett's calibre available and willing to support the school.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for people to meet Josh and to taste some of his delicious food while being able to support the school.

"We are very grateful to Josh for donating his time and we know that everyone who attends will have a fantastic night out," she said.

"Local food lovers are advised to get in quick as this event will definitely sell out," Mrs Pedersen said.

The demonstration evening will feature two sessions, one at 5pm and one at 7.30pm. Tickets cost $75 each and are available from ASB Remarkables Park and ASB Queenstown. Tickets include food, local wines, a goodie bag and a chance to win spot prizes.
