The Remarkably Calm team from Queenstown Primary School yesterday came second in the inaugural Great Mindball Challenge at Otago Museum's Discovery World in Dunedin.

The Taieri College's Mind Wizards won the competition against seven other teams from the Otago region.

Queenstown's Jasmine Addie, Bonnie Joans and Terry Kim had leapt at the chance to put their minds to the test when the project was announced at their school.

"We got to the office first and they needed three people. We were lucky," Jasmine Addie said.

The Queenstown pupils used their powers of concentration to move the magnetic ball to the opposite end of the table.

Those who can keep their minds relaxed and focus win.

Sticky TV's Kanoa Lloyd hosted the event before an audience of families and team supporters.
