Appeals against the decisions of all three plan changes regarding Arrowtown's urban boundary and Arrowtown South were adjourned yesterday until the next Environment Court pre-hearing in April.
Plan change 29 Arrowtown boundary and plan change 30 district-wide urban boundary appellants, the Boxer Hill Trust, entrepreneur Michael Hill's family, was represented in yesterday's pre-hearing conference by counsel Jim Castiglione.
Mr Hill was not present in court.
Mr Castiglione told Judge Jon Jackson the Boxer Hill Trust engaged with the neighbours Murray and Dame Elizabeth Hanan, and resident Peter Roberts, an Arrowtown South opponent, plus the Queenstown Lakes District Council immediately after its plan change 29 and 30 appeals were lodged late last year.
Minor wording changes were sought in plan changes 29 and 30 to provide "clarity and consistency", Mr Castiglione said.
Wanaka Landfill Ltd, represented by counsel Jan Caunter, yesterday, gave notice it would join the Boxer Hill Trust appeal.
Lawyer Jayne Macdonald said she appeared for the council and on instruction from the Otago Regional Council, which was keeping a "watching brief", she said.
Lawyer Warwick Goldsmith appeared for plan change 30 appellant, Ladies Mile Partnership, which did not have an issue with either plan change 29 or 39, he said.
Counsel Russell Ibbotson appeared on instruction for Cook Adamson Trustees Ltd and Arrowtown South developer Roger Monk, who was not present in the conference.
Mr Ibbotson said one appeal impacted on the other two.
Judge Jackson yesterday said he hoped to progress the appeals further, but adjourned to the next pre-hearing conference, on April 14.
An agreement with Boxer Hill Trust was "desirable", he said.
"The more that's resolved by the parties informally the better."
Dame Elizabeth said she was not prepared to mediate in respect to the other appeals, except on the Boxer Hill Trust, where agreement had been reached over the proposed amendments to wording.
Arrowtown resident Karen Swain told the judge the Arrowtown Village Association had lodged to be an interested party.
