Despite a late start to the annual Export 33 Parklife Invitational Rail Jam on Friday, a crowd of about 4000 was treated to a night of extreme snow sport antics in Earnslaw Park.

As well as the 30 invited competitors, a team of young Queenstown snowboarders and skiers were given an opportunity to strut their stuff.

TNT Freestyle is a Remarkables ski area-based free-ski and snowboard programme offered by the Queenstown Alpine Ski Team aimed at providing young snowsports athletes with training and freestyle programmes.

The TNT riders, all aged between 10 and 15, demonstrated their skills in what head snowboard coach Dan Grenville said was the perfect opportunity to showcase the talents of his proteges.

"These kids have a blast riding as a crew all winter long, picking up incredible tricks, competing in comps and having an awesome time while doing so."

Results: Skiers, Jossie Wells, 1; snowboard, Adam Shaw, 1; best creative flair (ski), Kentaro Tsuda, (snowboard), Jamin Beattie; best girl, Christy Pior; best slam, Wan Heo.
