Steamer Wharf proved itself as a Queenstown attraction for the lucrative conference and incentive market, after the precinct hosted more than 900 guests for the farewell party of Trenz 2012 last week.

Guests were able to wander between ground floor restaurants and bars and sample cuisine and beverages co-ordinated by Wai Dining Group during the four-hour event on Thursday night.

Patrons were impressed by Shihad frontman Jon Toogood and Julia Deans, of Fur Patrol, on stage as the Adults, then LA Social Club filled the dance floor.

Other guests relaxed on TSS Earnslaw or in one of the bars and restaurants - Wai, Pier 19, Finz Seafood and Grill, Minus 5 Ice Bar, the Boiler Room, La Voglia, Atlas and Waterfront Bar and Bistro.

Orange Productions operations manager Samantha Stirling said this week the Trenz party was the perfect opportunity for the precinct to shine as a venue.

"We are very passionate about Steamer Wharf. Queenstown lacks a large event space and this is a location that guarantees food quality, customer service and a unique and interactive experience.

"Trenz provided the opportunity for the space to be used to its full potential, from quiet networking to a dance party."

Steamer Wharf director Johnny Stevenson said groups had been hosted before, but Trenz was the most polished performance delivered by the precinct so far.

"It was wonderful to see such a slick operation come together at Steamer Wharf, with all the businesses involved working together really well.

"Everyone recognised we were on show and brought their expertise to the fore.

"Steamer Wharf has it all, and the Trenz event proved that it can cater for the numbers and provide a varied ... cuisine to a superior standard with no queues."
