The accident happened just after midday when the driver of the vehicle, a Subaru Legacy, lost control in gravel at the side of the road about 400m north of James Rd, and overturned, the vehicle coming to rest on its roof about 20m down a bank.
There were five people in the vehicle, all living in the Wanaka area.
The 26-year-old male driver and two other passengers received minor injuries. Senior Constable Sean Hurley said police were yet to determine if speed was a factor in the accident.
•Wanaka police arrested a 24-year-old Irishman at Mint Bar on Brownston St about 12.15am on Sunday, after he allegedly bit a doorman's arm.
The man, who is living in Christchurch, had been ejected from the pub for being "drunk and objectionable" prior to the incident, Snr Const Hurley said.
He was charged with assault and will appear in the Queenstown District Court tomorrow.
•A 17-year-old Wanaka male in "an intoxicated state" was arrested after an alleged unprovoked assault on a 20-year-old male, also of Wanaka, about 11.15pm on Friday on the corner of Brownston and Ardmore Sts.
The teenager will appear in the Queenstown District Court tomorrow charged with assault.
Snr Const Hurley said the incident served as a reminder to parents not to provide alcohol to people under the age of 18.
