More than 1800 concertgoers enjoyed the Classic Hits Winery Tour at Olssen's Vineyard, Cromwell on Tuesday night.

"This is so much fun," Gin Wigmore said as her tiny fists punched the air and she grinned from ear to ear.

The sassy international pop star, who once upon a time was a Queenstown Primary School pupil, had more than 1800 concert goers on their feet and dancing when the Classic Hits Winery Tour played at Olssen's Vineyard, Bannockburn on Tuesday night.

The vineyard was the closest tour venue for those in the Wakatipu and many residents made the trip to be a part of the family friendly concert.

Auckland-born seven-times platinum-selling artist Wigmore and her six-man band infused hits such as Black Sheep, Under My Skin, Oh My and Hey Ho with a crowd-pleasing Southern bar room and countrified swagger.

The reunited Mutton Birds made the most of their brief set and played the songs the crowd wanted to hear, such as Dominion Rd, Anchor Me, Queen's English and adopted classic Nature.

Avalanche City opened with their set of chiming folk tunes, with frontman and founder Dave Baxter rightly playing the Love Love Love card towards the end.

Concert co-promoter Campbell Smith said he was pleased to be back in one of his favourite spots for the 12th of 17 shows on a national tour, which ends in Auckland on March 3.

"What a beautiful night - a sold-out crowd in the most spectacular venue on the Classic Hits Winery Tour," Campbell said.

"The fans came to party and the bands played out of their skins," Campbell said.

"It was a triumph. We can't wait to come back in 2013."
