Queenstowner's first TV series has just been selected for next month’s Berlinale Series Market.

Victoria Boult, 27, co-created n00b — a nostalgic teen sex comedy about 2005, bad fashion choices, emo music and flip phones, with Rachel Fawcett after receiving almost $1.5million, through Great Southern Television, in June, 2023, to turn their 12, 90-second TikTok episodes, by the same name, into a six-episode TV series.

Backed by Warner Bros. Discovery ANZ, n00b subsequently premiered on Three and ThreeNow in October last year.

On Tuesday, Boult learned the series is one of 17 from across the world — and the only one from New Zealand — chosen by a jury for ‘Market Selects’ at the Berlinale Series Market, the primary industry platform for global serial content within the European Film Market (EFM).

She tells Mountain Scene it’s "a dream come true".

"I literally woke up [yesterday] morning wondering if I had actually dreamt it up.

"For our little show — based in the town of Gore — to be making an international impact is a very special thing."

According to its website, the small-screen industry event, which runs from February 16 to 19, provides an exclusive preview of "the most anticipated series from across the globe", showcasing small-screen series with "substantial market potential".
