Queenstown and Wanaka builders have been named among the national finalists for the Registered Master Builders (RMB) house of the year awards.
Queenstown building firms Newco Builders, AJ Saville and BJ Carter were named southern winners in the more than $2 million category for homes built, respectively, at Dalefield, Arrowtown and Queenstown.
AJ Saville Ltd also has a winning house in the show home category for the southern region.
A Mt Barker house near Wanaka by David Reid Homes (Central) Ltd is among the southern winners in the $1 million-$2 million category, as is another Wanaka house built by Plimmer Building Contractors.
A property at Lake Hayes Estate, by Queenstown-based firm Just Build It, is also a southern winner in the $1 million-$2 million category.
Houses built by firms based in Invercargill, Te Anau and Gore are also represented in regional categories for houses of a certain value.
The southern region category winners are among the national finalists for the RMB house of the year award, which will be announced in Auckland on November 27.
The southern winners join about 63 finalists from other regions around New Zealand.
The awards also include categories for commercial projects.
