The rainbow run returned with a bang on Saturday and more than 400 people enjoyed some technicolour mayhem.
The 3km run at the Frankton Recreation Reserve was organised by Sport Central, and officially launched the Queenstown Lakes District Council’s annual Summerdaze programme.
After being doused at the start by local firefighters and passing through five colour stations, the runners were left looking like human paint palette.
Sport Central community sport adviser Jo Knight said more than twice as many people took part in the run than turned out last year.
