Doors to stage one stores, including KMart, will open in Queenstown Central, beside Five Mile, on October 4.
Colliers International national retail director Evan Harris, of Christchurch, said there were about 45 tenants in the first stage, and the majority would be open to the public in just under two months.
"Construction's going really well. Most of it will be open then [October 4], there will be a few stragglers but that's the grand opening date.''
The overall development comprised 30,000sqm gross floor area in seven blocks, to be built in three stages.
Stage one, about 14,000sqm, was in four "precincts'' - general merchandise, fresh food, quick-service restaurants and "Main Street'' - as well as some office space.
Mr Harris said a mix of established Queenstown businesses and new businesses were moving in to the development.
Those new to Queenstown would include Hartley's, an Auckland-based women's fashion store, and Nationwide Jewellers.
Dunedin's Antidote Pharmacy and Just Cuts would also open in stage one, as would KiwiBank, Spark, Vodafone and 2degrees.
The fresh food precinct would include Brumby's Bakery, Soul Food Organic, from Wanaka, Black and White Coffee, from Christchurch, Merchant Liquor, and an Asian supermarket.
Included in the eateries were ice-cream store Shake Shed & Co, Jamaica Blue, a coffee kiosk, Sal's Pizza, from Auckland, Indian restaurant Spice Traders and new restaurant Love Chicken.
Mr Harris said stage two would comprise a four-storey 120-room hotel/serviced apartments, and more food and beverage stores, while stage three would focus on more retail.
"Hopefully they'll follow on soon afterwards.''
