Hollywood A-list actor Tom Cruise has been snapped in Queenstown where he is filming Mission: Impossible 6.

Cruise (54) was photographed yesterday at Queenstown Airport, after he emerged from an  Airbus helicopter.

A witness said Cruise and another man were "just looking at the helicopter for about 10 minutes, just yapping".

The US-registered helicopter was seen  yesterday in different parts of the Wakatipu,  including Kingston and Skippers Canyon.

Mission: Impossible film sets have been built in the Rees Valley and the Nevis Range. Cruise is thought to be filming in New Zealand for four weeks.

Photos  of other Mission: Impossible actors Simon Pegg and Henry Cavill posing with locals in Queenstown have emerged on social media.
