The focus was on Dunedin photographer Nicola Wilhelmsen as she picked up a top photography award in Queenstown on Friday night.
She was named joint Otago-Southland Regional photographer of the year, judged on four prints entered into the New Zealand Iris Professional Photography 2016 Awards, earlier this year.
Mrs Wilhelmsen was surprised to win and pleased to be honoured among her peers, many of whom she admired.
She was named alongside Jackie Ranken, of Queenstown, who was unable to attend the event.
An exhibition of the 2016 award-winning prints runs in the Front Room Gallery, Memorial St, until Sveptember 16.
