Police investigating two burglaries at Queenstown construction sites over the weekend believe the incidents are likely to be connected.

During the first burglary, a tandem trailer with the registration number W562W, was stolen from Jack Hanley Dr in Jacks Point, along with a Hyundai Robe digger.

A second trailer, registration number 5Z272 and sign-written with ALLstone Masonry, was stolen from Belfast Tce during the second incident.

The burglars also stole two wheelbarrows, a Makita stereo, and a Makita drill set from the Belfast Tce site.

Police believe these were targeted burglaries and the offenders will be using or offering the items for sale.

Officers have urged site managers and tradespersons to ensure all their equipment is well- secured on site or in trucks following the burglaries.
