Hundreds of people turned out in the Sunday sunshine for the annual St Joseph's Primary School book fair in Queenstown, including sisters Sylvia (5 front row, left) and Isabelle Quill (3), and Anushka (5, back, left) and Anikta Pilo (10).

Principal Trish Inder said: "It's been a great day, lots of people, lots of helpers, and the weather is fantastic - it didn't look good, so, few prayers, perhaps a miracle."

The money will be used for devices, a play area and sports gear.

The Catholic primary has 123 pupils. The fair usually raises about $25,000.
