Tipped truck closes lane

A furniture removal truck overturned on State Highway 6 between Queenstown and Cromwell yesterday afternoon, reducing traffic to one lane for about 90 minutes.

A police spokeswoman said no-one was injured in the crash, which occurred about 1km from the Crown Range Rd turn-off about 4pm.

A tow truck pulled the vehicle clear of the road about 5.30pm.

Fire volunteers were called because of fuel leaking from the truck, which is operated by Cromwell-based Central Lakes Removals.
