The Wakatipu Premiers rugby team has suffered its second loss this season. Playing the Maniototo Maggots in Ranfurly last Saturday they went down 19-5. This Saturday, Waka takes on Matakanui at the Queenstown Rec Ground — should the home side win, they’ll get their name engraved on the coveted White Horse Cup and lock it away until next season. Arrowtown, meanwhile, enjoyed a bye last weekend; this Saturday they’ll travel through the gorge to take on Cromwell. Both games kick off at 2.30pm.
