Held at the school's auditorium, the show will feature performances by the school's choir, chorale, orchestra, string group and barbershop quartet.
The chorale is one of 19 choirs competing at The Big Sing National Finale in Wellington from August 21 to 23.
The 17-girl group will perform six songs - three they performed at the regional competition in Dunedin in June and three new songs.
The chorale has made the national finals every year it has competed since 1995.
The day before The Big Sing, four members of the chorale will compete as barbershop quartet ‘‘Tuned In'' in the National Young Singers in Harmony competition in Lower Hutt. It is the first time a barbershop group from the school has competed at the national competition.
The 17 girls, head of music Vicki McLeod, accompanists Lynne Macfarlane and Tim McLeod, and two parents will make the trip. They need to raise about $600 each to cover costs.
• The Musical Soiree will be held at Craighead Diocesan School's auditorium on August 17 at 5.30pm. Tickets are available at the school office or at the door: adults $15, students $5.
