President Doreen Ennis welcomed members to the May meeting of the Blue Cliffs Womens Institute, held at the home of Nola Searle, on May 21.
The meeting opened with the recitation of our aspirations and the roll call was for an exchange of books and magazines.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
Correspondence was received from Waimate Federation and national executive, also from Hospice South Canterbury.
General subjects for discussion at the forthcoming annual general meeting were discussed.
Our entries were decided on for the Waimate Federation Eisteddfod in July. Sandra Halkett had a display of dolls clothes which are going to the Blue Cliffs kindergarten.
For entertainment, Jenny Bevin had a quiz in which all the answers were body parts.
This caused a few laughs and was thought-provoking.
As June is our birthday month, it was decided to go for a meal at Harlau House on June 19.
