Two Telford Rural Polytechnic staff will receive awards which will earn them $2500 each for career development.
The new awards will be handed out at Telford's graduation ceremony on November 21.
Two awards - one for excellence in teaching and the other for excellence in service provision - will be offered.
Telford chief executive Jonathan Walmisley said those receiving the awards would get a "development grant".
"This is in addition to any other professional development which the staff member has," Mr Walmisley said.
"It may be used flexibly; however, the primary purpose is to assist in the individuals' development."
Any staff member or student was able to nominate a recipient.
Nominations for the awards closed on October 31.
The selection panel, comprising senior academic staff and a student representative has until Monday to choose the recipients.
