No Blueskin A and P this year

There will be no Blueskin A and P Society show this year, and the chance of it being held next year depends on the result of the annual meeting on December 16.

Outgoing secretary David Sumpter, of Waitati, said he, along with the president and treasurer were stepping down at the annual meeting.

"We have all got too many other things to do."

The society's farm machinery auction and country fair, scheduled for last month, was not held and Mr Sumpter said it might be held next March.

The show and country fair is unlikely to be held, although this will depend on the new committee elected at the annual meeting, he said.

The long-running Blueskin show evolved into an auction and country fair in 2001 after no show was held in 2000.

Up to 2000 people attended some of the and fairs held at Bland Park, Waitati, between 2001 and 2007.
