A new series of Sunday markets will be held in Balclutha this summer.
The Clutha Country Sunday Market will sell fresh produce, vegetables, cheeses, meats and other products.
The weekly gathering, to be held in the Ryder's Paper Plus carpark in central Balclutha, will be run by Big River Promotions.
Spokeswoman Irene Mosley said a recent meeting of prospective stallholders agreed there was merit in holding the markets in the town.
Mrs Mosley said the Clutha Country brand was becoming very recognisable. By not including the word "farmer" in the title, it also showed it was not just growers involved in the market.
Stallholders will be asked to pay a $100 joining fee to the group's Balclutha Main St Trust.
Mrs Mosley hopes the first market will be held in October.
