Santa may have wished he packed shorts for his visit to Balclutha as hundreds of people lined both sides of Clyde St to catch a glimpse of the jolly fat man during the town's annual Santa parade today.
Instead of his traditional sleigh, Santa opted for a red motorised trike and he might have been a little hot under his red suit as the town was basking in 26degC heat at 1pm when the parade started.
While the man in red was the star of the show, about 30 other floats paraded down the streets, including the district's schools, rest homes and businesses.
Pupils from St Joseph's School took inspiration from the Disney film Moana for their costumes and float while the district's Filipino community danced their way down the parade.

Other community groups had also coincided their events with the timing of the Santa Parade such as ''Toot for Tucker'' and the Christmas Tree extravaganza at the Balclutha Presbyterian Church.
